Oakley is relaunching its ’90s Sub Zero sunglasses

“I have too many sunglasses!” never told anyone – especially when Oakley routinely pulls all of its iconic ’90s bangers off the ice and puts them back on the market, giving a new generation the opportunity to soar with styles like the Sub Zero.

Summer is literally upon us. Maybe not when you’re dealing with Britain’s unpredictable weather cycles, but technically speaking we’re almost there. Those sporadic bursts of sunshine will have you racing home to pull on a pair of shades, and honestly, it’s hard not to keep spinning as heavy as your sneaker game.

Oakley spends serious hours rummaging through crates and pulling out some of its biggest hitters of the 90s. Much like the careers of the sports stars that rocked them, the 90s saw Oakley produce a series of heavyweights that been immortalized in his archives.

The Sub Zero is the next to come out of the archives and return to market as part of Oakley’s MUZM collection – a unique selection of iconic styles that have been reissued with new interpretations and updated technology.

Originally released in 1992, the Sub Zero is the type of frame that will leave you in the depths of nostalgia. To remember Spy Kids 3D? Well, those wouldn’t seem out of place in this movie, and I mean that in the best possible way.

Released in three colorways – ‘Road Matte’, ‘Sapphire’ and ‘Black Matte’ – if you’re having trouble finding styles to update your rotation this summer, consider the problem solved.

You can shop the new Oakley Sub Zero collection now at the Highsnobiety store and via Oakley.
