Pearle Vision Milledgeville is a family business. Dr. Don Talley and his sister, Dianne Milam, brought Pearle Vision to Milledgeville. Milam is a licensed optician and has lived in Milledgeville for over 10 years. She previously worked as a vision center manager at Walmart.
Located at 1850 N. Columbia St. in Milledgeville, inside the Tractor Supply Mall, Pearle Vision Milledgeville has some of the newest digital eye exam equipment in the area. The equipment allows them to assess diabetes, high blood pressure and other eye conditions. The folks at Pearle Vision Milledgeville can perform annual comprehensive eye exams for glasses and/or contact lenses. Talley said they can also get retinal images, which some patients have requested from their primary care physician.
Talley said he received a warm welcome from the community.
“[Customers] no need to travel to Atlanta to have all the choices offered by Pearle Vision,” he said.
Pearle Vision Milledgeville has also welcomed a new member to its team in the person of Dr. Perry Giles, originally from Sandersville. He is a doctor of therapeutic optometry with advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of many eye diseases such as dry eye. The doctor added training to treatments to prevent the progression of nearsightedness or nearsightedness. Giles wanted to return to the Milledgeville area in order to be closer to his family, making Pearle Vision’s location in Milledgeville an ideal choice.
“Your vision health is very important not only to your quality of life, but also to your overall health,” Talley said.
Talley explained that he struggled early in school due to uncorrected vision. He said there are many children still struggling and he is happy to be part of the solution.
“My favorite part of running Pearle Vision is that we’ve seen many children who didn’t have much choice for their glasses or who were even able to be seen by an optometrist and have their vision completely corrected,” he said. -he declares. “It’s a great feeling when they say they can see the leaves on the trees or what the teacher wrote on the board is no longer blurry.”
Pearle Vision Milledgeville also offers telehealth appointments, where eye exams can be performed even when Dr. Giles is away from the store as well as outside of normal business hours. Pearle Vison Milledgeville is, predictably, part of the Pearle Vision chain, whose parent company is Luxottica, an Italian eyewear company. Membership grants the Milledgeville location access to multiple eyewear designers and manufacturers such as Ray-Ban, Silhouette, Oakley, Coach, Versace and many more. Talley said they have over 1,110 frames on hand in the store.
Along with massive amounts of frames, Pearle Vision Milledgeville is also currently offering several promotions. This includes their back to school special on contact lenses.
Talley also added that customers who mention the news article and bring it to Pearle Vision Milledgeville can receive a free upgrade on lens coatings such as transitions.
Pearle Vision Milledgeville office hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 11am to 3pm.
